Garroch Glen is a beautiful area of upland moors and wooded valley
set in the heart of the Galloway Hills, just sixty miles from the
English border.
At Garroch Glen there is a vast range of activities to enjoy such
as: Environmental tours, including sites of scientific interest,
Hill walking, (14 walk trails from 300m to 12 miles), Guided horse
and pony rides, Horse-drawn carriage rides, fishing and shooting.
Amongst our resident wildlife are red deer, roe deer, wild goats,
otters, mink, stoat, game birds, birds of prey, red squirrels, badgers,
salmon brown trout, adders, woodland birds, owls and a symphony
of frogs.
Moorland hill plants change with the seasons and the woodland display
Victorian plantings of daffodils, snow drops, primroses, azaleas,
rhododendrons, roses and deciduous trees, which make for a golden
autumn, In winter the snowcapped hills are stunning.
