Guided Walks & Environmental Tours
Imagine discovering a hidden world with acres of unspoilt
countryside, glorious scenery and an abundance of natural life.
Garroch Glen environmental tours offer private parties unique access
to a vast and diverse landscape that stretches as far as the eye
can see. Along the way your guide will give you a fascinating insight
into 'Life in the Glen'. You can bird watch in remote moorlands
where golden eagles and red kites soar overhead, or listen to the
dawn chorus and watch the countryside awake. Travelling by foot,
horse drawn cart or our specially converted truck, you can see wildlife
in their natural habitats. Take a closer look at diverse plant life,
including rare lichens and mosses, century-old trees and native
wildflowers.
The present is firmly rooted in the past at Garroch Glen. Our farm
dates back to the 16th century and the battle routes of Robert the
Bruce cross the estate. You can enjoy a guided stroll along deserted
tracks lined with stone dykes built by hand over 250 years ago,
or let us lead you on a hike up hills to breathtaking views unchanged
for centuries.
Each season brings delights and magical colours. Carpets of bluebells
in spring, heather clad hills in the summer, red squirrels foraging
in autumn, the stark beauty of winter.
There's much to discover and explore, it's only natural you will
want to return time and again to Garroch Glen.
